Chiropractic

The chiropractic profession has come a long way since its inception in 1895, but the premise remains the same. Chiropractors look to the spine for the cause of dis-ease. Poor spinal alignment and function is proven to cause improper body mechanics and nerve pressure. Spinal adjustments or manipulation help to restore the body’s natural functions. Chiropractic can help with everything from poor posture to acute and chronic pain syndromes. Most patients report improved sleep, more energy, improved immune response and better overall health.

Our doctors integrate a variety of techniques that vary depending on the patient’s needs, such as Diversified or Osseous Technique, Thompson, Drop, Activator, Applied Kinesiology, Extremity Work and Logan Basic. Chiropractic is safe for all ages, from newborns to seniors.

Extremity Adjusting

Our office benefits from a multitude of knowledge from differing adjusting techniques. In a very similar way that chiropractors fix dysfunctions of the spine, extremities can have fixations, subluxations, and joint motion restrictions. Extremities include the TMJ, ribs, shoulder and elbow, wrist and hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot, as well as the hands and toes. These problems may be chronic or acute and many people have great relief from their extremity adjustments.

Myofascial Work

Therapeutic Massage and Myofascial work is an essential part of helping the patient “hold” the adjustment, relaxing muscles and reclaiming scar tissue. Our staff is trained in Myofascial, Swedish, Neuromuscular, Sports Rehab, Acupressure (Shiatsu), Craniosacral, Reiki, Reflexology and Lymphatic Drainage.

Class IV Cold Laser

Our office is proud to offer two different industry leading cold lasers - the LightForce EXPi and the KLaser. Class IV Lasers deliver specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a therapeutic effect within the body. Laser Therapy is proven to stimulate tissue repair and growth. It accelerates the healing process by decreasing inflammation, pain, and scar tissue formation. In the management of chronic and acute pain, Class IV Laser Therapy can provide dramatic results.

Rehabilitative Modalities

Our Licensed Massage Therapists perform passive therapy such as Ultrasound, Electric Stimulation and Traction, and they excel at Myofascial Work and Deep Tissue Therapy. Daily communication between the Doctor, Therapist and Patient helps assure the correct care on a daily basis and better outcomes for the patient.

Customized Exercises

A specific exercise plan is a necessary part for injury recovery, overcoming painful syndromes, poor posture and overall health. Exercise is also necessary for prevention of future injury. All exercise protocols are custom designed for the individual patient and are prescribed and overseen by the doctor.

Decompressive Traction

This is an extremely effective therapy for disc degeneration and disc bulges or herniations. This non-surgical, comfortable therapy acts to traction the spine, relax muscles and re-hydrate the disc to help it to heal.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation

Instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, also known as IASTM was made popular by David Graston. IASTM uses a hard-edged instrument made of metal, plastic or ceramic to add shearing stress to soft tissue in order to enhance the body's healing response. The ability to focus mechanical force along a small contact surface to your patients' target tissue, and do so with a relatively high level of comfort for both the patient and treating therapist, is one of the best features of this technique. The average length of time spent performing IASTM is between 5 and 10 minutes, with 1-3 minutes spent on specific lesions in the target tissue.

Piezowave 2

Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy (MyACT) is widely used in the treatment of acute and chronic pain in muscles, tendons and joints. MyACT describes the use of acoustic waves to target tissue at varying depths to compress and manipulate tissue resulting in a focused and precise deep tissue massage. The results of the mechanical stimulus delivered by MyACT can lead to increased circulation and pain relief - key components in the healing process.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Chiropractic Acupuncture

Chiropractic acupuncture balances the energy in your body. It is great for pain control, sleep imbalance and a wide array of other disorders. Ask your doctor if it may be a good option for you.

KinesioTape

Developed by a Chiropractor in Japan, this cotton tape has been used by Olympic and Professional Athletes. It acts to decrease swelling, strengthen and stabilize weak muscles, and speeds healing time. We call it "magic tape" because it often enables people to carry on and not be limited by their injury.

Custom Orthotics

Since the foot is the base of the lower kinetic chain, abnormalities here will translate up the leg, which will affect the pelvis. The pelvis is the base of the spine and enormously influences its function. An orthotic is a supportive device that is placed inside footwear, to change the mechanical function of the foot. It works dynamically during weight-bearing activities like walking, running and standing. Ideally, it should provide full, custom, and corrected arch support so that the foot works in a biomechanically correct way. An orthotic controls the excessive flattening of the arch, thereby restoring normal bone and joint function.

Detox Foot Baths

This is used to facilitate cleansing for someone who has been exposed to toxic chemicals. It helps with skin conditions, mental clarity and immune response.
