What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care has gained a reputation of helping only those in pain, which it does, but it also does much more! Chiropractic care is a bit like building a house, certain things have to happen in a particular order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and may eventually collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well.
The nerves that leave the spine in between your vertebrae go out into the body to innervate all of your organs. Subluxations of the spine can occur from a multitude of reasons, posture, exercise, sleeping position, and sometimes simply just by living! As chiropractors, we remove these fixations in the spine and extremities and allow full neurological flow to the body’s organs and structures. This increased capacity, can expedite healing times and ensure optimal function of our body’s systems.
You may be in pain when you first come in, or you may come in simply to compliment your journey to health. Just like an orthodontist makes frequent adjustments when you first get braces, we may need to see you frequently when you begin your care plan. As your body becomes accustomed to the new alignment, your frequency of visits will decrease. Every individual is different, and depending on the condition of your alignment you may need to be seen more than others before your frequency decreases.
As you become stable in your alignment, we will transition you to a maintenance care plan. Generally, these patients are seen once a month to maintain their spinal health. When maintenance visits are properly followed, patients notice decreased likelihood of injury, increased healing times, and increased overall wellbeing. We, at Berry Hill Chiropractic, have an ample number of tools in our toolbox to help assist you succeed in health. Our goal is to allow your body to perform at its best every day!
